START WITH A CLEAR PORTRAIT
Take a photo that needs less editing
Start with a clear, front-facing portrait taken against a plain wall. Ask someone to hold the camera at eye level, or use a stable stand for your phone. Leave some space above your head and around your shoulders to allow for cropping the image later.
Soft, even lighting clearly reveals facial features and reduces the need to tidy up the background. Keep your facial expressions natural and avoid using beauty filters. Fresh photos are often a better choice than screenshots or heavily cropped group shots.

Check for shadows and glare before uploading.
Keep facial details prominent at normal viewing sizes.
Tip: Retake the blurry photo. Increasing the pixel count or DPI does not restore facial details that have already been lost. If the original photo is blurry, take another one instead of trying to sharpen it excessively.

This tool divides the process into four stages. Start by selecting the output size, then complete the cropping process before changing the background or preparing for the download.

Upload and Size: Support has been added for images up to 10MB. Select the default option or enter a custom width, height, units, and DPI. Compare the resulting dimensions with your form.

Crop: Drag and zoom to position the portrait. Use rotation or fine adjustments, refer to the visual guide, and then apply the crop. These guides will not detect or verify your face.

Background and adjustments: Make only those changes permitted by your application. Review the manual cleaning around the hair and shoulders, and then make appropriate adjustments to the lighting or contrast.

Download: View the preview, select JPG or PNG, and compress the JPG file if necessary. Prepare a print sheet when hard copies are required.
Note: Set the size before editing. Changing the size or DPI, or applying a crop, will reset any subsequent background edits and adjustments. Delete the frame first to avoid duplication.

Match the size your application requests
This tool includes a 35×45 mm preset, but the name alone does not confirm that it meets all the requirements for a passport, visa, CNIC, or NICOP. Please refer to the instructions for your specific application. If a different size is required, use the 'Custom Size' option.
For a printed image, physical size refers to its width and height, whereas pixel size denotes a characteristic of a digital image. DPI establishes the relationship between the two. At 300 DPI, a 35×45 mm image measures approximately 413×531 pixels, while at 600 DPI, it measures approximately 827×1063 pixels.

If your portal requires specific pixel dimensions, enter them directly. High DPI settings will not override pixel requirements or improve the quality of a blurry original. Custom photo outputs are limited to 3,500 pixels per side and 4 megapixels.
BACKGROUND AND LIGHTING
Keep the background simple and the face natural
Select a specific background for your form. This tool provides color palettes and custom color controls, but it does not automatically remove the background of characters using artificial intelligence (AI). Simply filling in a color will not eliminate the opaque wall behind the object.
For a plain background, use Select and Replace Solid Background to modify contiguous areas of uniform color. You can also handle smaller areas using manual cleaning brushes. Before proceeding further, inspect the hair, ears, collar, and shoulders.
Controls for brightness, contrast, exposure, saturation, and sharpness can assist with minor adjustments. Ensure the face remains recognizable and preserve natural skin details. Undo the edit if it creates a halo, alters the appearance of the face, or removes any part of the subject.
Note: Check whether editing is permitted. If your application requires an unedited photo, do not alter the background or retouch the image. Follow the specific instructions provided, including any restrictions regarding cropping or resizing.
DIGITAL PHOTO DOWNLOADS
Choose the format and file size for your form
When an image file is requested in the form, upload only a JPG or PNG file. Use the format specified on the portal. WebP is also accepted as an input format here. Individual images are downloaded in JPG or PNG format.
For JPG files with strict upload limits, select a target size—such as 20, 30, 50, 100, or 200 KB—or enter a custom target. Run the compression process and check the file size before finalizing. This tool adjusts the JPG quality while maintaining the selected pixel dimensions.
Example: If a form requires a JPG image with a size under 50 KB and dimensions of 531×413 pixels, prepare the image according to these specifications and try to keep the file size within the 50 KB limit. Compare the downloaded file against both requirements. This is merely an example, not a universal standard for passports.
A very small target may be unattainable, or it might make the face appear covered or blocked. If the result exceeds limits, use a small size only when the form allows it. Upload the image directly; a ZIP archive is not a substitute for the required JPG file.
PRINTABLE PHOTO COPIES
Arrange photos on a 4×6 or A4 sheet
If you require multiple printed copies, please select 4×6 inch or A4-size paper. Specify the number of copies and the spacing, select borders and cut lines, and then preview the page. The appropriate number of copies depends on the image size and layout settings.
Download the print sheets as JPG or PNG images. These sheets are intended for printing. Use a single image file when a portrait (vertical) orientation is required for an online form.
Select the paper according to the selected sheet size.
Print at actual size or 100% scale.
Measure a printed photo before cutting the remaining photos.
Tip: Check the printer settings. Options like Fit to Page, Borderless Expansion, and Auto-crop can alter the print size. Ask the print shop to preserve the actual sheet dimensions, and verify the first copy using a ruler.

Use this tool when your application requires a photo file or a printed copy. For school admissions and job applications, adhere to the specifications regarding dimensions, background, file format, and upload limits prescribed by the relevant institution.
Various methods can be used to apply for passport, visa, and identity services. Do not select a preset option simply because it is labeled file. Instead, review the description of the image associated with the service.

FINAL CHECKS AND PHOTO HELP
Resolve photo issues before submitting
Open the downloaded image before submission. Compare the image's cropping, background, pixel dimensions, file format, and actual file size against the specifications provided in the form. Also, verify the printed dimensions for hard copies.
Why is my picture not uploading?
This tool accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10 MB in size. If your image is in HEIC format or another unsupported format, convert it before selecting it. If the image file is too large, resize a copy of it first and keep the original image safe.
Why did my background changes disappear?
Changing the size or DPI, or altering the crop, regenerates the image and discards any subsequent edits. Therefore, finalize the dimensions and crop selection before proceeding with the cleanup process.
Does a high readiness score mean the photo is approved?
No. This score is based on a basic assessment of the image (such as brightness, detail, and resolution). It does not verify identity, nor does it measure every official requirement regarding the image.
Can I download a WebP image or a PDF sheet?
This tool allows uploading WebP files but exports images and sheets in JPG or PNG format. It does not export PDF sheets.

Can this tool fix a blurry (out-of-focus) face?
It can improve sharpness, but it cannot compensate for a lack of detail in the original image. Generally, retaking a clear photo will yield a more useful result.
